The students of the Isis Newton of Varese of the classes 2C MEC and 2B BIO have won the first prize of the Civic Education project “Councillors for a day 2.2” as 2024/2025 promoted by the Regional Council of Lombardy.

The students of the Institute stood out for the quality of their proposed law entitled “Fighting the mafia with the use of new technologies”, discussed at Palazzo Pirelli, in Milan.

The initiative, aimed at promoting active participation in democratic life and knowledge of institutions among young people, involved numerous schools in Lombardy. The Newton students stood out for the originality of the chosen theme and the competence demonstrated during the work, culminating in the simulation of a session of the Regional Council during which they played the role of Regional Councilors, discussing the PDLs presented.

The project was followed with commitment and professionalism by teachers Cinzia Gullo and Emma Lorella Lo Gullo , teachers of Legal and Economic Disciplines, as well as referents for the teaching of Civic Education.

ISIS Newton thus confirms its vocation to train aware citizens and protagonists of the future society.

The award ceremony took place in the “Roncoroni” classroom of the school today, May 30, 2025 at 12:00 in the presence of the former Secretary General of the Lombardy Regional Council, Alessandro Patelli, the Headmaster, Daniele Marzagalli , the project teachers and the school teachers.
